Vampire Crawlers Dungeon Events: All 11, What They Pay, and Where They Spawn

Between the fights, a dungeon keeps offering you things: a cart you can smash, a statue that trades a card for an evolution, a mirror that duplicates one. These are dungeon events, and the wiki lists 11 of them. Most are free value, two cost gold, and one is the only way to add a Crawler mid-run.

The awkward part is that the game never explains any of them. You walk into a black marble block, hit it four times, and only then find out it wanted a secondary card you already sacrificed.

The 11 events at a glance

Event What you do What you get Can you skip it?
Treasure chest Open it Gems, by tier No, it's the reward
Evolution statue Smash the marble, pick a recipe An evolved weapon Walk past, or cash out for 200 gold
Mana statue Interact — (wiki page is a stub) Walk past
Light source Walk into it Coins, Wild cards, Floor Chicken, Rerolls Walk past
Abandoned cart Destroy it, then collect the bracer icon +1 Deal Count for the rest of the run Walk past
Bat Goblin Throw cards at it XP gems per card Walk past
Card stat offering table Sacrifice a stat card A permanent buff for that run Walk past, or cash out for 200 gold
Floor chicken offering table Sacrifice a card Full heal Walk past
Mana offering table Interact — (wiki page is a stub) Walk past
Outhouse Knock Recruit a random unlocked Crawler for 100–500 gold Walk past
Duplicate offering table Pick a card A duplicate of that card Walk past

Two of those, the Mana statue and the Mana offering table, have no documented effect. They exist in the event list, they appear in the game, and the wiki has nothing on them beyond the name. That is the honest state of the record, so this page does not invent one.

The cart is the best deal in the game

Destroying an Abandoned cart drops a bracer icon; walk into the icon and you collect it. The reward is +1 Deal Count for the remainder of the run, which means one extra card in hand every single turn after that floor.

Deal Count is the stat that decides how many cards you can chain, so +1 is not a small number: it is a permanent extra link in every combo for the rest of the dungeon. Nothing else in the game gives permanent Deal Count for free.

The three statue-and-table trades

Evolution statue. A black marble block. Smash it four times to reveal the statue, then interact to open a menu of up to three evolution recipes. The one you pick gets an Evolution gem slotted in. You still have to sacrifice the secondary card, and backing out of the sacrifice screen does not consume the gem, so a misclick is recoverable.

Two edge cases the wiki documents. If your deck has no valid evolution pair but does have a free gem slot, the statue offers evolution component cards instead. If no weapon in your deck has a free slot for an Evolution stone, you are offered a Big Coin Bag.

Card stat offering table. Also called the "Bing Upgrades vending machine". It shows the stat cards in your deck, and picking one destroys that card and grants a run-long buff tied to it. The full list is on the table below.

Duplicate offering table. A mirror. It duplicates one card you already own, which is the cheapest way to get a second copy of a card you built around.

Every card-stat sacrifice

Card sacrificed Buff gained
Bracer +1 Hand
Parm Aegis +1 Armor
Armor +1 Armor
Golden Armor +2 Armor
Rainbow Armor +3 Armor
Spinach +10% Might
Sprig o' Spinach +20% Might
Candle +5% Area
Candella +10% Area
Candelabrador +15% Area
Duplicator +1 Amount
Du-Duplicator +2 Amount
Tirajisú +10% Revival
Clover Petal +10% Luck
Little Clover +20% Luck
Clover +20% Luck
Crown +30% Growth
Crystal Crown +40% Growth
Stone Mask +20% Greed
Skull O'Maniac +5% Curse

Note what the trade actually is: you lose a card slot and the passive, and you keep a flat buff. Sacrificing a Rainbow Armor for +3 Armor is usually a loss, because the card itself gives more. Sacrificing a duplicate Crown for +40% Growth is usually a win, because you were not going to play the second copy anyway.

Chests come in three tiers, and the tier is the rarity

Chest Look Gem rarities inside
Tier 1 Red and gold Common to Rare
Tier 2 Purple, two locks Rare to Ultra Rare
Tier 3 Gold, heavily decorated Very Rare to Ultra Rare

Tier 3 chests are the only ones that cannot give you a Common, which is the mechanical reason a late-run chest feels different from an early one. For the gem-by-gem drop weights, see the gems and Jeweller guide.

The Outhouse is the only mid-run recruit

Knock on the Outhouse and you can hire a random Crawler you have already unlocked or bought, for a variable price that runs 100 to 500 gold, for the rest of that dungeon crawl.

There is no cap on how many Crawlers you can have active in a run, so a lucky Outhouse on floor 3 changes the shape of the whole descent. It is also the reason gold has value after the shop is empty.

Mad Forest spawns, floor by floor

This is the only dungeon where the wiki publishes the full per-floor table, and it is worth reading because it shows how scripted the early game is.

Floor Spawns Event Weight Probability Guaranteed?
1 1 Evolution statue 1 1 No
2 1 Mana statue 5 0.83 No
2 — Arcana choice 1 0.17 No
3 1 Crystal 1 — Yes
4 1 Gem chest 1 — Yes

The floor-2 row is the one worth remembering: an Arcana choice is a 1-in-6 roll, not a fixed reward. Players who plan a build around an early Arcana are planning around a 17% event.

Inlaid Library works differently: floor 1 has 3 spawns (a guaranteed gem chest, a random event, and an Evolution statue), floor 2 has 2 random events, and floor 3 has a guaranteed gem chest plus a Mana statue and more. Same system, looser script.

Hurry Mode costs you Bat Goblin cards

The Bat Goblin event asks you to throw cards at it, and every card that lands turns into an XP gem. Hurry Mode doubles the in-game clock (two real minutes count as four game minutes), so the event resolves twice as fast and you throw roughly half as many cards.

If you are farming XP, turning Hurry Mode off before the event is free value. That is the one place in the game where the faster mode is strictly worse.

What the page does not claim

  • Mana statue and Mana offering table effects: not documented anywhere, including the wiki.
  • Mana statue does appear in the Mad Forest floor-2 weight table, so it exists; its effect is simply unrecorded.
  • Per-floor event tables for dungeons other than Mad Forest and Inlaid Library: not published.
