Quick answers

What platforms is Vampire Crawlers on? PC (Steam and Epic), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, macOS, and iOS/Android from 12 October 2026. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version. Is Vampire Crawlers a sequel to Vampire Survivors? No. It is a turn-based, card-driven first-person deckbuilder set in the same universe, made by the same studio, poncle. How long is a run in Vampire Crawlers? A typical run takes 15-25 minutes; a full main-story clear takes about 17.5 hours (HowLongToBeat median; poncle's official FAQ puts the designed length at 20-30 hours), and 100% completion around 25-26 hours. How many gems are in Vampire Crawlers? 62. 58 shipped at launch and Death Parade added 4. How do evolutions work in Vampire Crawlers? Sacrifice the right second card at an Evolution statue while holding the Evolution gem. The base card only needs a free socket, and gems already in the base card are inherited; the sacrificed card's gems are lost. How many relics are in Vampire Crawlers? 19 - 17 appear in the Relic Museum list, while Deck Box and Galileo's Hand are hidden. How many characters are in Vampire Crawlers? 25: 22 at launch plus Ambrojoe, Troubler and Leda from Death Parade. Divano exists in the files but is unobtainable.

Is Vampire Crawlers free?

No: it's $9.99 (£8.99/€9.99/¥1,200) on the main storefronts — poncle notes the price can differ slightly on some consoles. But it's included with Xbox Game Pass from day one, so subscribers play at no extra cost.

What platforms is it on? Is there a Mac version?

PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. Mac: the Steam page lists macOS system requirements (macOS Sonoma 14.4.1, Apple M2 / Intel i9, 2 GB RAM), so yes, check the Steam page for current compatibility notes. No PS4 or Xbox One versions, current-gen only. Full details: Platforms & Price.

Is it a sequel to Vampire Survivors?

No: it's a spin-off in a different genre. Vampire Survivors is an auto-battler bullet-heaven; Vampire Crawlers is a turn-based, card-driven first-person deckbuilding dungeon crawler. Same universe, same studio (poncle), different game. See the full comparison.

Was there a demo?

Yes: a Steam Next Fest demo ran before launch. The demo included a subset of content (Antonio, Imelda, Arca, Pasqualina, Poe and Gennaro were demo-playable, along with the starter card pool).

How long is a run?

Dungeon runs are snappy: much closer to Vampire Survivors' pacing than to a 90-minute Slay the Spire run. The endgame (Red Death, 1,000,000 HP) is where runs stretch long.

What does Luck do?

Better odds on rare items and more four-choice level-up offers, and it directly enhances RNG card effects like Vicious Hunger's "may turn enemies into coins." Full breakdown: Stats Explained.

How do I unlock Krochi?

Defeat 6,666 enemies total, then buy him at the Inn for 1,250 gold. He's the Revival character: you want him before fighting Red Death.

Where do I find skeletons (for Mortaccio)?

The Mad Forest and its higher-difficulty variants. Defeat 444 of them and Mortaccio unlocks. Details: Gold Farming.

How do I get MissingN0?

Kill Red Death: the secret boss that appears when you descend one more level after a dungeon's final boss. It's a 1,000,000 HP fight with a specific counter-deck. Full method: Secrets.

How do evolutions work?

Find an Evolution statue (red orb), sacrifice the matching weapon + item combo, and apply the gem. The item type matters, not the exact card. All 18 recipes: Evolutions.

What's the best first character to buy?

Pasqualina: 100 gold for splash damage plus Hand growth. Then Arca (300). The free starters Antonio and Imelda should already be in your party. Full ranking: Characters.

Is it on Game Pass?

Yes: day-one Xbox Game Pass on console and PC.

What's the Death Parade update?

The free update that shipped alongside the iOS/Android release in late 2026, reshaping the card system. It's free on all platforms.

Jargon, messages and misspellings explained

"Incomplete Combination, choose a reward": what does that mean? It's the message you get at an Evolution statue when you're missing a component. The statue needs both the weapon and the right item type; if you don't have the pair, the game tells you the combination is incomplete and offers you a substitute reward instead. Fix: check the evolution recipe table: the item type matters (any Tome works for Holy Wand), not the specific card.

"Tiramisu"? You mean Tirajisú: the +10% Revival card and the key component for Phieraggi. Very commonly misspelled.

"Oven kit"? You mean the Ovenkilt relic (Cappella Ultima): it lets you Overkill any encounter, not just bosses. That's the core of gold farming.

"Meany bridge"? That's a real dungeon, not a typo: Meany Bridge is a late-game dungeon. (It's easy to confuse with Teeny Bridge, zone 3, which is where the Stardust Anvil and Overkill relic live.)

"Nuke button"? The Bomba Infernale relic (Dairy Plant): press the big red button to vaporise all enemies on the first floor of an already-cleared dungeon.

"Junk cars"? If it's the carts in the Dairy Plant, those are mine carts: smash five to unlock the Carréllo card, and the Remote gem summons one.

"Question marks"? Content the game (and wiki) hasn't categorised: e.g. Spirit Disturbance (6 mana, 425 damage) sits under "???" in the wiki's card lists. It means "known to exist, not slotted into a colour".

"Joker / jester"? The Jester's Hat arcana: adds a Wild card to your deck at the start of every floor. Unlock: play 150 Wild cards.

"Vespers"? Unholy Vespers: the King Bible evolution (King Bible + Spellbinder, 2 mana, 120 damage, Knockback).

"Drowner"? A Gallo Tower elite: 4,000 HP normally, or 60,000 as the elite. See Enemies & Bosses.

"Hurry"? It's Hurry Mode, unlocked by the Sorceress' Tears relic (Gallo Tower). It speeds up travel and combat and doubles the in-game timer: 2 real minutes count as 4 in-game. It's not a teleport button.

"Queen Sigma"? That's a Vampire Survivors character, not a Vampire Crawlers one: a common mix-up between the two games. See the comparison.

How many levels are there?

Nine dungeons, and several have difficulty variants (Mad Forest → Furious Forest → Berserk Wood, and so on). The nine: Mad Forest, Inlaid Library, Teeny Bridge, Dairy Plant, Weeny Bridge, Gallo Tower, Cappella Magna, Moongolow (with Moongohigh), Meany Bridge: plus the endgame floor below Red Death. Weeny Bridge is a separate dungeon (unlocks at Dairy Plant level 15, difficulty 5) that gates Gallo Tower and Power Ups Tier 3. Full order and unlocks: Walkthrough. Enemies per zone: Enemies & Bosses. Tiers and their unlock conditions: Difficulty Guide.

Is there co-op or online multiplayer?

Vampire Crawlers is a single-player game: there's no co-op, online multiplayer or PvP mode. (Vampire Survivors, the parent game, did get online co-op; that's a different game.)

Can I save and quit mid-run?

Runs are short by design, and the game doesn't offer a manual mid-run save you can reload freely: quit mid-run and you lose that run's progress. If you need to stop, finish the floor you're on. Autosave timing and the cross-platform picture are on Cross-Save & Transfers.

Updates, DLC and roadmap

  • QOL update 1.5 (2026-06-23) added Endless Mode: clear a dungeon, unlock a small area that grants a relic, then enable Endless on any cleared dungeon. Difficulty keeps climbing as you dig, and the Jeweller is disabled in Endless (how the mode works).
  • Death Parade = v1.6.1 (2026-10-12), the big content update: 1 new zone with 3 new stages (Moongolow, Moongohigh, Gallo Dungeons), taking the dungeon families 8 → 9, 2 new Crawlers, 2 weapons + 1 evolution + 1 utility card, 4 gems, 4 Arcana, 2 relics, plus Turkish and Ukrainian localisation and the iOS/Android launch. It also renamed Handsize → Deal Count and made Bone / Cherry Bomb / Heaven Sword's bounces scale with Luck.
  • Two further content patches were pushed back to 2027; the 2027 teaser is a zone called Astral Stair.
  • No paid DLC has been announced: updates have been free.

Music and voice actors

  • Yoko Shimomura composed the main theme only (confirmed by poncle). The OST body is by Daniele Zandara and Filippo Vicarelli, so "Shimomura did the whole soundtrack" is wrong.
  • The game is voiced. Michael Coviello voices Gennaro and Krochi, among others; per-character credits live on the official wiki.

Trophies, achievements and completion

There are 161 achievements, and each one unlocks something real: a card, a Crawler, a gem or a relic (achievement-driven progression). Console/PlayStation trophies track the same milestones. The hardest completion goals: kill Red Death (how), unlock MissingN0, and finish the 18 evolutions.
